Phase Field Modeling
Fachausschuss Phasenfeldmodellierung
Intention
Phase field models have been in the focus of research in applied mathematics and mechanics in recent years. Due to the multiple applications in coupled problems, phase transitions, and fracture the GAMM activity group on phase field modeling was installed at the annual GAMM meeting 2013, in Novi Sad, Serbia. The intention of the activity group is to bring together expertise from mathematics, mechanics and materials science in order to improve the understanding of phase field approaches, to analyze the models analytically, and to develop improved numerical schemes.
The group started its activity in the summer of 2013 with a kick-off meeting in Frankfurt.
Speakers
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ralf Müller (TU Kaiserslautern)
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Bernd Markert (RWTH Aachen)
