PD Dr.-Ing. habil. Achim Wagner (born 1968) is the scientific head of the research area Innovative Factory Systems at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence and lecturer in the field of automation technology at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern.
His current research focuses on fault-tolerant autonomous production systems and intelligent human-technology systems. After his diploma in information technology, he worked as a scientist and research group leader in the research fields of materials in electrical engineering, medical and rehabilitation robotics, autonomous mobile robots, human-technology interaction and reliable systems at the universities of the Saarland, Mannheim and Heidelberg.
