EMUS-4-Stress 2: Condition monitoring system based on electromagnetically excited ultrasonic transducers

As part of project EMAT-4-Stress 2, the research team developed a method to determine stress-related stress gradients of pipeline components non-destructively, taking into account the microstructure of metastable austenitic Cr-Ni steels with rapid load consequences. To do this, they investigated the relationship between the mechanical tension and the ultrasonic signal on samples with purely austenitic and defined austenitic-martensitic states using elastic and elastic-plastic deformation tests..

The project is carried out in collaboration with Fraunhofer IZFP Saarbrücken and AREVA NP GmbH and is gratefully supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
