New microindentation device at WKK!


We are excited to announce the arrival of our new FischerscopeHM2000, a microindentation device manufactured by Helmut Fischer GmbH. The device enables microindentation testing with continuous detection of indentation force and indentation depth. Not only is indentation depth resolution possible at the nanometer scale, but at indentation forces up to 2000 mN. This means being able to achieve high local resolution of a material’s microhardness, as well as conduct instrumented cyclic indentation tests. An integrated heating plate opens the possibility of performing indentation tests at temperatures up to 200 °C.

We will be using this new device to intensify our research activities in the field of cyclic microindentation tests, including at high temperatures, which will be of immediate use for CRC 926 projects.
