DVM silver needle of honour for Bastian Blinn

At the 48th annual meeting of the working group “Betriebsfestigkeit” in Plauen, the German Association for Materials Research and Testing e.V. (DVM) awarded the Silver Needle of Honour to Dr.-Ing. Bastian Blinn on 13th October 2022, to „appreciate and acknowledge his exceptional research work in the field of the short-time procedures for analyzing the fatigue behavior of metallic construction materials”.

To appreciate outstanding technical and scientific achievements in the field of materials science and testing, which indicate substantial results for future, the DVM confers the Silver Needle of Honour to scientist being younger than 40.

With this, Mr. Blinn stands in a line with well-known scientists, who already received this tribute and who are listed at http://dvm-berlin.de/ueber-den-dvm/ehrungen.

During the award ceremony, Mr. Blinn thanked his current and former cooperation partners as well as colleagues at the Institute of Materials Science and Engineering of the TU Kaiserslautern (WKK). Besides his family, he especially thanked the employees of his work group for the outstanding collaboration and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Tilmann Beck for his exceptional support and his enormous trust in him.
