Competencies / intended learning achievements

From [MV-MTS-86605-K-7] Signals and Systems:

1. Lecture

Students are able to

  • Describe linear, time-invariant systems
  • Derive continuous-time Fourier series (CTFS) and transformation (CTFT) and describe their properties
  • Describe discrete-time shift-invariant systems
  • Derive discrete-time Fourier series (DTFS) and transformation (DTFT) and describe their properties
  • Explain the effect of interpolation and decimation of a series of numbers on the frequency spectrum
  • Motivate and derive the discrete Fourier transformation (DTF) and describe the correlations to DTFT and DTFS

2. Practice

Students are able to

  • Calculate convolution integrals
  • Calculate the Fourier series and Fourier transformation of periodic and aperiodic continuous time signals
  • Calculate convolution sums
