Chair of Applied Mechanics

Continuum Mechanics

Short description

Continuum mechanics is the basis for solving many mechanical engineering problems such as the combination of stress and deformation of structural elements. The lecture therefore deals with central aspects of geometrically linear continuum mechanics in a modern representation based on the tensor calculus. The lecture Continuum Mechanics builds on the one hand directly on the lectures on Technical Mechanics of the basic study period and on the other hand sees itself as a suitable preparation for the lecture.
