Research and testing of concepts for model-based control of particle technology processes

As part of SPP2364, a process for high-resolution additive 3D manufacturing using high-energy impacts of fine particles is being developed at the Chair of Mechanical Process Engineering. For this purpose, an existing cold gas system is being further developed and expanded through the application of automatic control systems. The focus is on the development of control concepts that achieve the desired operating window of particle accumulation and thus ensure autonomous operation of the plant. Disturbances, such as changes in the particle size distribution, are to be compensated by an automatic adjustment of the plant and this without additional offline experiments.
